Complete Outline

So here is a final outline of what each scene is going to be in the film:

We took a long time talking and creating the whole film but we finally completed the final step of the film preparation, our outline. This is showing all the shots and angles we will be using, also what our characters are doing in those scenes. I'm very excited and passionate about this so hopefully, this all comes out as what Cami and I are imagining for our film project. We will both make the biggest effort for this to be as perfect as we can for our audience. Complete

This is our final draft but nothing is set in stone since will we are recording we could change anything accordingly to however we feel will fit best for our film, but this is the general idea for our film opening.

Role Distribution

Who is going to do what?

After a long day of discussing everything with Cami, we both concluded on the roles each one of us is going to have in this awesome project.

To begin......

Me (Ana)

I will be in charge of editing. I'm going to make sure all the scenes fit together greatly so our film once it's all together looks amazing. I'm going to be using premier, to edit. This conclusion was made since I really enjoy editing things and making them come to life. I believe that the most important thing when making a move is the actual editing process and making sure that everything comes together perfectly. I will be doing this alongside Cami's helps and using our ideas on how every scene should be placed. Making the movie come to life is a huge part of the project but I'm really looking forward to doing this. I believe this project is going to come out really nice and I can't wait to put everything together.

Camila

She is going to be working on directing the film on recording everything. She is going to be in charge of making sure that every scene we do demonstrates and portrays the feeling and sensation we want our audience to receive. She is going to make sure every shot comes out perfect and that everything is in order.  Cami is going to be telling all of the actors what to do and how to place themselves. I alongside will be helping her with everything but as more of an assistant director.  I will share my ideas but she is going to make sure that everyone is happy when recording our opening.

Daniela and Michael

These characters will be played by two of Cami's really close friends that fit all of our standards for our characters. In real life, her friends are already dating so this will be amazing for the film since the chemistry is already there so this will make our film look a million times better since no one is going to have to fake the feelings they have for each other. This will make our opening seem so much more realistic which will make everything come together so much more smoothly.

Background Characters

Families are one of the main background characters and this is going to be played by Cami's family will play a role as Michael's family and my family will be Daniela's.

We want this film to be perfect and my partner and I will make sure to make everything come out as awesome as we can. This is a very important project to us and we are putting so much work into it so that the final result is amazing!

Where?

The final decision of the location:

Cami and I came to the final decision of where we want our project to take place. We came to the conclusion that is what going to be in Miami but where exactly. We live in the suburbs so it would be very difficult to imitate the city here. Thankfully we live at 45 mins from Miami which is a very good replacement for New York City.  My partner and I through the city wanted to really show the love of our two characters and the connection they have for each other.   We live that this is going to be possible by going to brickle or maybe the Miami Design District since the city looks super nice from here, and we believe that recording the few yet very important scenes for our film.

The scenes that will be recorded here are the ones where Daniela and Michael bump into each other and where they meet and it's love at first sight. This feeling has to be authentic as the location. We want our audience to get a sense that this is all true so driving to Miami will help us express this the most. We had an idea to use a green screen but as we thought everything through and came to the conclusion that Miami would feel the most authentic.

Then the other scenes will take place in my house and in Cami's house. This is where most of the shooting will take place. My house will be Daniela's house and Michael's house will be recorded at Camila's. My partner lives super close so in case we need to change locations this will be very easy for us since her house is located in the same neighborhood as mine. This scenes is where we are going to capture the different cultures and social statuses of each character. In these locations is where our audience is going to be able to learn everything about our character and their backgrounds. This is where we are also going to introduce the virus to everyone.

This post is super short but I just wanted to catch you guys up with all the final details we have come up with.

Title Ideas

Our Title...

So Cami and I have been talking over FaceTime to come up with the final details we need for our film, but the biggest struggle we have at this moment is deciding on what we want the title of our film to be. We have already created a complete outline of the scenes we need for our opening and when we reached the scene where the title is supposed to, we both came to the realization that we still have no clue what we want our film to be titled as. The title is usually one of the first things that cross people's minds when creating a film but in our case, we completely skipped this very important step. However, even if we did this it's better for us since we already have everything formed so finding a title or that clue word that defines our film won't be that complicated. 

We want our title to portray our whole film, we want it to be something that shows that this is a film between two teenagers fighting against a pandemic to find their way back to each other. Something that shows the whole essence of Daniela's and Michale's love story while also showing the heartbreaking truth of their separation because of the pandemics. Our title should show the terror of the pandemic and the situation they were placed in.

These ideas are just me and Cami brainstorming nothing is set in stone yet but we still thinking since this is a very important decision for the film. We still don't feel a connection with any of these title ideas that we have come up with but as soon as we decide on what our film will make sure to share it with everyone!

Schedule & Location

When and Where?

So my partner and I were talking about how we would elaborate the film. We started talking and trying to fix our schedules to be able to film our opening. Since we both have an SAT on March 13 we decided that we wanted to start to film after that. So we will start filming the week of March 15 that Saturday the 20th we decided that we wanted to go to Miami to film some of the first shots of our film. We would do this around 6pm and film near Bricklle since it's where the city is the most visible. Cami and I decided that this would be the best place since the film takes place in New York so the closest thing we have to NYC is Miami since there is a lot of tall buildings that could be easily viewed by our audience as buildings in New York.

Then on, March 16 and 18 we would stay here in Weston and record in our houses. We would use Cami's house to be either Daniela's or Micheal's house and then also my house. We still haven't decided on which house is going to be for each character but we will see that later on. This day we are going to film the scenes of them getting ready for the game.

Later, on Sunday, March 21 we decided that we wanted to being our editing process. By this day we want to have our film half done since the next week is spring break and we do not want to have that much left to do. If we do not finish editing on Sunday then we would continue this through the week but hopefully, have everything done by the due date. Following this schedule would allow us to complete everything on time. 

This schedule is perfect since we have a lot of time before the due date in case we have any delays and we need more time to do something. 

We still have a long way to go but step by step our film project is coming together. I'm looking forward to recording and editing and seeing the final result of our film opening. 

Group Meeting

Discussion in Class

Today was a very interesting day, in class we were separated into different groups with different people doing other projects. Our teacher gave us this opportunity so we could get some insight from others' points of view. This was very helpful and provided me and my partner with many ideas that we hadn't talked about.

The idea that my group gave me was the fact of recording them both getting ready for the football game where they are supposed to meet. Then proceed on playing a TV announcement in the back that announces the pandemic and ordering people to be careful about it. They said that my idea of crosscutting between both characters while they get ready was a good idea and that this would be good to show the audience that these are our two main characters and the love interests. They thought that this would also be a good way of showing the different lifestyles.

Another, idea that one of the students in the meeting suggested was showing a scene of Michaels's phone getting a lot of text messages asking if he was going to the football game. Then on the other hand show Daniela painting in her room and her mom coming in to force her to get ready to go to the football game. This is something that would help show their characteristics and introduce the fact that Daniela is very shy and doesn't know tat many people when on the other hand Micheal is very popular and know by everyone.

These ideas that were suggested were very helpful to me and my partner. Talking to other people and receiving their point of view on our story really helped us come up with what we wanted our film opening to be like. Deciding this is very hard but talking to other people helps us see that we are not alone and that there are also many other students struggling with coming up with many things just like we are. This helped us see realize that if we are ever stuck and don't know where we should take our film or how to interpret our idea we could talk to others and get their insight and perspective on what we are doing. 

Coming to the conclusion of what our film opening is really hard since it is only two minutes we have to demonstrate something that helps the audience realize what our film is about and gather the basic information to be able to follow along with the movie. This is very complicated but I and my partner are really close to deciding what scene we want to develop to be our film opening.

Outline

The Story Line

After a lot of talking Cami and I decided how we want our story to go!

First, we are going to introduce the first two characters, by showing their morning routine or basically them getting ready for school. In this time the audience will be able to see the different houses and social classes they are from. In these scenes we will incorporate many low angles, meaning just showing our character's feet and a lot of medium shots. 

We came to the conclusion that our characters were going to meet at a football game and after that, they, both of them were only going to keep interacting in school. One day school was canceled due to a pandemic outbreak this is going to separate both our love interests since they didn't have any other way to communicate other than in school, they never exchanged phone numbers or social media information, and now they couldn't leave their houses because of the virus that was going around.

This is the problem they are going to encounter that is going to put to question their love and make the audience start to wonder if they are ever going to be able to see each other ever again. 

The two characters lived really far so there was no way to meet again. Daniela lived in a faraway small neighborhood while Micheal lived in a rich neighborhood. This made it even harder for them to be able to ever cross paths. 

So this is basically the main plot of the story and then it will continue expanding to show how they met and how they finally found a way back to each other even if this pandemic was keeping them away.

Outline:

1. We start with a medium shot of both of them getting out of bed, we are going to try to set like both events are happening at the same time so we will use cross-cut editing.

2. Then they will proceed to the shower before going to school we will show a low angel of just their feet.

3. After they get out they will go and change we will do a low angle of these two and just after proceed to a medium shot once they have changed.

4. Medium shot of looking in the mirror, for example, Daniela doing her make-up.

5. Then we will proceed to show a long shot of them going down the stairs.

6. Here is where the constant cross-cutting wills stop and will start to show Daniela talking to her family eating breakfast and then proceed to show Michael's family.

This is just a rough draft of the idea we have, but we still have many things to edit and decide but these are things that just come along with the process. We are trying to use this film start to show our both love interests and also introduce their different environments and lifestyles. There are still many shots and scenes to add but this is kind of the main idea of what we are trying to show.
