Target Audience

Who is this filmed aimed for?

After talking with my partner we found out that we hadn't really come up with the target audience. We discovered that this was something that we hadn't really talked about. So we started to research.

This helped us understand and analyze our film's target audience and we came to the conclusion that we wanted our film to be directed towards the age group of 14-25-year-olds mainly but in general teenagers or young adults, since this is the age group that likes Romance films the most.

We then proceeded to research individually, which ones like romancing the most men or women. Cami and I had the feeling that women were going to be more and we were right. Females are the ones who are the most interested in Romance films. So we concluded that the gender our film would be aimed at would be females.

All this research helped us come to the conclusion that we wanted our target audience to be young women from around the ages of 14-25. This is who we are planning on targeting with our film since due to the facts we gathered with our research are the ones who show the most engagement towards Romance films. Of course, our film is open to anyone who wants to see it and we will try to attract as many viewers as possible but this will be our main target.

Casting Update

Our new cast members!!

So we finally decided who our actors are going to be,

Cami talked to her friend Gaby and Marshall, who are really close to her, and they said that they would love to act in our film opening.

Gaby was born in Colombia so she fits perfectly for the standards we had set for Daniela, and Marshal was born in the U.S. so he meets all the Michael standards. Gaby and Marshall are a couple in real life so this is going to add a greater feeling to our film since they don't have to fake their feelings. This is going to add a more realistic feel to our film and it intensifies the romance element we are trying to show.

Both Gaby and Marshal are the perfect match for our film and fit every single expectation Cami and I had in our head planned for our film. They are both super nice people and I'm super excited to work with them. Personally, I haven't really met Marshal but I have talked to Gaby and she is super nice, and working with her is going to be super easy since she is very down to help out and she is really excited about this project too.

Working with them is going to be so much fun and Cami and I are really looking forward to completing this project, not only for the grade but for the experience that it's going to give us. This is going to be such a fun time and project to complete with everyone that I'm really looking forward to it and can't wait to start recording.

Next week is bringing so many exciting things and we will make sure to create a blog for you guys so you can see all our backstage activities and how we completed everything!!

Title Update

What is our Title?

We finally decided on our title for our film!!

The title is.....

Love Sick

We decided on this title since our story is basically about two lovers who get separated because of a global pandemic of a disease. We thought lovesick would fit perfectly since they are sick in love and they are dealing with sickness at the same time.

The font of our title is going to be something similar to the one used in this blog since we want it to be very classic romantic and many romance films usually show their title in cursive. 

This title demonstrates and interprets everything our movie is trying to show which is love and the struggle of the global pandemic sickness. Someone who is lovesick is someone who is crazy in love with a person so using this title show our audience how they are crazy in love but also could get sick if they see each other.

People when they see this title can infer and interpret what our story is going to be about so Cami and I decided that this was the title that we wanted and the one that fit what we wanted for our project the best. This title is short, sweet, and simple, the 3 Rs we needed for our perfect title. 

We believe this title is going to create great engagement and make the audience look forward to watching this movie. This title will help create and enlarge our audience since when someone reads lovesick and see our movie poster they are going to be so engaged and captivated with it and probably will want to see and know everything about the movie.

Cami and I are so excited to produce Love Sick and are really looking forward to the final project, hopefully, you guys are too!!

Editing Softwares & Camara Equipment

Which editing software is the best?

I am going to be editing the project and the two editing software that I have available and that I know how to use are the iMovie and Adobe Premier. 

The one that I think I'm going to use on this project is Adobe Premier. The first time I used Premier was in my film class in 8th grade, since then I fell in love with the program and found that it made editing so easy. All the options it gives you and all the ways you can manipulate your film. As adding color schemes and the title. This app makes it so easy.

I took iMovie into consideration but after thinking it through Adobe is more professional and sophisticated and since I already know how to use most things using this app will be easier since once you actually get the hang of Adobe Premier everything becomes so easy. It provides me with so many options to help our film come out amazing such as manipulating the duration in such an easy way and sitting scenes in Adobe is so easy and in iMovie is harder. 

Adobe Premiere is definitely the way to go in this project. This app will help our project be amazing and come out looking super professional.

Which Camara?

Cami and I don't really have access to such sophisticated camera equipment as the one's blogger or professionals use, but we think that our phones will work perfectly fine for this project. We wanted it to look as professional as possible so we will try to do everything for it to portray the effect that it is being recorded in a fancy device. We will probably use my phone or Camis depending on who has the better camera.

For the camera to be still and not shaking, we will use a tripod I have at home which will help increase the quality of our film.

Hopefully, with these things, our project will come out just like we are imaging and hopefully look as professional as possible.

Complete Outline

So here is a final outline of what each scene is going to be in the film:

We took a long time talking and creating the whole film but we finally completed the final step of the film preparation, our outline. This is showing all the shots and angles we will be using, also what our characters are doing in those scenes. I'm very excited and passionate about this so hopefully, this all comes out as what Cami and I are imagining for our film project. We will both make the biggest effort for this to be as perfect as we can for our audience. Complete

This is our final draft but nothing is set in stone since will we are recording we could change anything accordingly to however we feel will fit best for our film, but this is the general idea for our film opening.

Role Distribution

Who is going to do what?

After a long day of discussing everything with Cami, we both concluded on the roles each one of us is going to have in this awesome project.

To begin......

Me (Ana)

I will be in charge of editing. I'm going to make sure all the scenes fit together greatly so our film once it's all together looks amazing. I'm going to be using premier, to edit. This conclusion was made since I really enjoy editing things and making them come to life. I believe that the most important thing when making a move is the actual editing process and making sure that everything comes together perfectly. I will be doing this alongside Cami's helps and using our ideas on how every scene should be placed. Making the movie come to life is a huge part of the project but I'm really looking forward to doing this. I believe this project is going to come out really nice and I can't wait to put everything together.

Camila

She is going to be working on directing the film on recording everything. She is going to be in charge of making sure that every scene we do demonstrates and portrays the feeling and sensation we want our audience to receive. She is going to make sure every shot comes out perfect and that everything is in order.  Cami is going to be telling all of the actors what to do and how to place themselves. I alongside will be helping her with everything but as more of an assistant director.  I will share my ideas but she is going to make sure that everyone is happy when recording our opening.

Daniela and Michael

These characters will be played by two of Cami's really close friends that fit all of our standards for our characters. In real life, her friends are already dating so this will be amazing for the film since the chemistry is already there so this will make our film look a million times better since no one is going to have to fake the feelings they have for each other. This will make our opening seem so much more realistic which will make everything come together so much more smoothly.

Background Characters

Families are one of the main background characters and this is going to be played by Cami's family will play a role as Michael's family and my family will be Daniela's.

We want this film to be perfect and my partner and I will make sure to make everything come out as awesome as we can. This is a very important project to us and we are putting so much work into it so that the final result is amazing!

Where?

The final decision of the location:

Cami and I came to the final decision of where we want our project to take place. We came to the conclusion that is what going to be in Miami but where exactly. We live in the suburbs so it would be very difficult to imitate the city here. Thankfully we live at 45 mins from Miami which is a very good replacement for New York City.  My partner and I through the city wanted to really show the love of our two characters and the connection they have for each other.   We live that this is going to be possible by going to brickle or maybe the Miami Design District since the city looks super nice from here, and we believe that recording the few yet very important scenes for our film.

The scenes that will be recorded here are the ones where Daniela and Michael bump into each other and where they meet and it's love at first sight. This feeling has to be authentic as the location. We want our audience to get a sense that this is all true so driving to Miami will help us express this the most. We had an idea to use a green screen but as we thought everything through and came to the conclusion that Miami would feel the most authentic.

Then the other scenes will take place in my house and in Cami's house. This is where most of the shooting will take place. My house will be Daniela's house and Michael's house will be recorded at Camila's. My partner lives super close so in case we need to change locations this will be very easy for us since her house is located in the same neighborhood as mine. This scenes is where we are going to capture the different cultures and social statuses of each character. In these locations is where our audience is going to be able to learn everything about our character and their backgrounds. This is where we are also going to introduce the virus to everyone.
